If the values for PM10 and NO2 are exceeded in Barcelona, the government of Catalonia has the competence to declare an episode of high air pollution.
Cars and vans
From the winter of 2017 until the spring of 2018 motorcycles, trucks, coaches, buses and vans Euro 1, Euro 2 and Euro 3 will be temporarily exempted.
This will be reviewed during 2018.

Registered vehicle owners get the appropriate sticker send by mail without ordering it.
Foreign vehicles can get stickers from post offices (see below).
If you do not have a sticker, your vehicle may be stopped and your vehicle papers checked. The level of penalty will depend on whether you meet the emissions standard.
