Introduction
Access regulations for vehicles over 9 tonnes have been in place in Wroclaw since 1st January 2012.

Dates and details
Lorries from 9 tonnes to 12 tonnes are only allowed to enter the zone on the indicated streets.
Lorries over 12 tonnes are allowed to enter the zone 04:00 - 06.00, 09:00 - 13:00 and 19:00 - 22:00 on the indicated streets.
Lorries over 18 tonnes are allowed to enter the zone 04:00 - 06:00, 09:00 - 11:00, 20:00 - 22:00 on the indicated streets.
Vehicles over 18 tonnes without travel destination in the zone are requested to go back to the Wroclaw Motorway to avoid the city centre.

Trucks of over 9 tonnes can entry only along these streets:
- Bardzka
- Krzywoustego
- Grabiszyńska
- Strzegomska
- Legnicka
- Popowicka

The streets which limit the zone can be found here. There are no traffic restrictions applicable to the above-mentioned streets, as they are the borders of the zone.

Need to Register?
If the destination is located in the 18-tonnes-zone, you can apply for a permit. Online registration for a permit is available here (in English) and here (in Polish).Alternatively permit application can be done in person from:
Urban Engineering Division (Wydział Inżynierii Miejskiej) to ignore B-5 road signs (ban on the entry of trucks with a total weight of 18 tonnes) placed along the following route: al. Brucknera, ul. Średzka, ul. Żmigrodzka, al. Karkonoska, ul. Opolska.

No national scheme, however, similar schemes operate in Poznań, Warsaw, and Wrocław.

Exemptions
Public transport vehicles and trucks with a maximum total weight of up to 9 tonnes may enter the zone without restrictions.
Lorries over 12 tonnes may enter the zone all day if they are delivering emergency materials and equipment
Marked specialist vehicles for providing public utility services are also allowed access all day if their trips are related to:
1. urban cleaning and disposal of solid and liquid human waste
2. supply of water and disposal of sewage
3. supply of electric power, gas and heating, and
4. performance of work related to emergency repairs.
