    Introduction
During high pollution events Oslo can either implement a diesel ban or an odd-even numberplate scheme.
There is a Charging Scheme in place in Oslo, as well as a Low Emission Zone being planned.
The city authorities in Oslo are also considering making the centre of the city car-free in 2019. We will include more information when it is confirmed.

At times of high pollution
Oslo municipality can either implement a:
a) Temporary driving ban for diesel-powered passenger cars, vans, lorries, buses and lorries that do not meet Euro 6 standards
and/or
b) Ban the use of passenger vehicles with registration number ending in even numbers on odd-numbered dates; or for registration number ending in odd numbers on even-numbered dates.
In addition, the city can choose to close the municipal car parks in the red parking zone of the city. Information on the website and road signs.

All vehicles or diesel vehicles, depending on what is decided by the town.

Oslo emergency measures
key: the ban only concerns the municipal streets. The red streets are exempted.

    Exemptions
The temporary driving ban in § 3 a) does not apply to
a) vehicles over 7.5 tonnes which use Euro VI technology,
b) vehicles used for commercial purposes and with documented driving requirements on the day of the prohibition period, including vehicles delivering goods to Oslo
c) vehicle transporting a handicapped person who has a valid parking permit under the Regulations on 15 March 1994 no. 222 on parking for the disabled,
d) emergency vehicles,
e) vehicles used in public service,
f) patient transport and other driving related to life and health,
g) driving to and from the ferry
transport and airport upon departure / return that day, and
h) transit.

The odd and even scheme in § 3 b) does not apply to
a) electric cars and hydrogen vehicles,
b) vehicles used for commercial purposes with documented driving requirements on the day of prohibition period, including vehicles delivering goods to Oslo
c) vehicle transporting a handicapped person who has a valid parking permit under the Regulations on 15 March 1994 no. 222 on parking for the disabled,
d) emergency vehicles,
e) vehicles used in public service,
f) patient transport and other driving related to life and health, and
g) driving to and from the ferry transport and airport upon departure / return that day.
