Greater London has different schemes in place:
Coach Ban Areas:
Some London boroughs have ‘Coach Ban Areas’ to protect residents from the impact of coaches on unsuitable streets. Announced by road signs.
- From 18:30 - 08:00 no coach parking on the street in most areas. This regulation is relaxed between 18:30 and midnight if you are parked in a coach bay where parking is free.
-no double parking
-If your hotel does not have off-street parking, you should take your coach to an off-street coach park
-for an interactive coach parking map see here.
Engine has to be turned off when parked.
Drivers must stay with their vehicles at all times
(TLRN) -with double red lines where no stopping is allowed at any time
-with single red line with restricted operational hours, see the local signage for details
-with Red Route bus stops for set down/ pick up only
(borough owned routes) -with double or single yellow lines where set down and pick up is allowed, however activity must be taking place. Some London boroughs allow an observation time, however this does not apply when loading restrictions are in force.
-with Yellow Route bus stops where set down and pick up is prohibited at all times
A number of locations including Madame Tussauds, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Tate Modern, Natural History Museum and some hotels on Cromwell Road have 20 minute set down/pick up bays outside or nearby.
Look for the roadside notice signs.
Coaches may set down on Buckingham Gate south side and pick up on Grosvenor Place behind Buckingham Palace. Drivers must not park or wait at either location.
A free coach permit system applies for these venues. Permits are issued by Merlin Entertainments Group. Call +44 (0) 871 282 9280 for details. Coach bays are located on Belvedere Road.
Coach set down, pick up and parking bays are located close to many of the central London river piers:
• Bankside Pier - use parking and 20-minute coach bays located on Southwark Bridge Road
• Blackfriars Pier - use 20-minute coach bays located on slip road from Blackfriars Bridge to Victoria Embankment
• Embankment Pier - use set down, pick up and parking bays on Victoria Embankment
• London Bridge Pier - use 20-minute bays located in English Grounds
• Millbank Pier - use parking or set down, pick up bay on Millbank
• Tower Pier - use Tower Hill coach park
• Westminster Pier - use set down, pick up and parking bays on Victoria Embankment

St Pancras International
For pick up, you will not be allowed into the coach area before the train you're meeting is due to arrive. Give marshalls the train ID and you'll be directed to a bay.
(Piccadilly to Charing Cross Road) Two dedicated coach bays located on the westbound side permit setting down and picking up of passengers.
It is vital that drivers do not arrive to pick up until at least 10 minutes after the show has finished. Because shows finish at various times, drivers who arrive early could prevent other groups from being picked up.
