There are a number of legal cases running in Germany about air quality. So far two of them have been completed.

These are often reported as 'diesel bans'.

In these two the judge has said that the city needs to ban older diesel vehicles. This would mean low emission zones with minumum standards of Euro 5 and Euro 6.

The cities then need to implement the schemes.
