Summer in Paris - not for diesel cars!

Paris is going to tighten the standard for its ZCR (restricted traffic zone) from June 2019 on.

Only vehicles that meet the standards for the Crit'Air sticker 3 are allowed to circulate.

The standards that have to be met in order to get a Crit'Air sticker 3 are:

  • Diesel cars must be first registered after 31 December 2005 (usually Euro 4) 
  • Diesel light duty vans running on diesel must be first registered after 31 December 2005 (usually Euro 4)
  • Petrol cars must be first registered after 31 December 1996 (usually Euro 2 and 3) 
  • Petrol light duty vans running on diesel must be first registered after 31 December 1996 (usually Euro 2 and 3)
  • Motorcycles must be first registered after 31 June 2004 (usually Euro 2) 
  • Diesel heavy duty vehicles must be registered after 30 September 2009 (usually Euro 5) 
  • Petrol heavy duty vehicles must be registered after 30 September 2001 (usually Euro 3 & 4)
