Lille and Strasbourg have postponed their LEZs

The Low Emission Zones will come into effect in these two cities in 2022.

Strasbourg has already decided to push the start of the ZFE to 1 January 2022. Lille has not communicated a precise time in 2022, yet.

Strasbourg states on its city website that 'Due to the health crisis and the postponement of the municipal elections of March 2020, as well as the desire of the new executive to engage in citizen consultation on the alternatives to be implemented, the ban on vehicles without a Crit'Air sticker will not take place on January 1, 2021 but will be implemented on January 1, 2022.'

The proposed deployment schedule for the Strasbourg perimeter:

  • As of January 1, 2022: minimum standard Crit'Air 4 sticker
  • As of January 1, 2023: minimum standard Crit'Air 3 sticker
  • As of January 1, 2024: minimum standard Crit'Air 2 sticker
  • As of January 1, 2025: minimum standard Crit'Air 1 sticker

Lille is also occupied handling the challenges Covid-19 imposes on us and needs more time for the implementation of the ZFE.
